Learning Fast

I haven't posted in a while because Mommy was away - She went to California for her friend Heather's wedding, and then 2 days later flew to England for cousin Judith's wedding. Now that she is all done traveling she can help me update my blog here :) The day Mommy came home from California, I had some tummy trouble. I even made my first mess in the crate when Daddy picked up Mommy at the airport. I felt bad, because it really wasn't a great welcome home present for Mommy to have to clean up, but I just couldn't help it. I started to get better the next day, but then Daddy gave me a bone that was meant for grown up dogs and my tummy was still not better. Daddy had me checked out at the vet on Monday and he said I was ok and just needed to eat chicken and rice in small meals until I was back to normal. I am doing much better now. I weighed 28 pounds when Mommy left for England but am now 27 pounds since I was sick. Mommy is hoping I gain a little more weight soon, but I think I'm fine.

Daddy worked with me on my commands a lot when Mommy was away and she was really happy that I am learning so much! She was super excited this morning when I did all the commands she gave me! She thinks I'm a super smart dog! I may even get to compete in obedience trials some day when I'm bigger. She was telling me about all the doggies she saw in England and how much she missed me. I'm glad she's home!

Cousins and hoses and nails and blood

Today I met Cousins Jayne, Rachel, Alex and Steven and Aunt Robin. I also ran around the yard chasing the water that was coming out of the hose. That was fun. But what wasn't fun was getting my nails clipped. Daddy did a great job but I was such a wiggly butt that on the very last nail he nipped too low and I started bleeding all over the floor. It didn't bother me too much but Mommy and Daddy were a little freaked out. But I'm A-OK now :) And I got lots of carrots as treats.

Lunchtime Cuddles

Mommy has to come home for lunch this week since the neighbor is on vacation - its a pain for her to drive home, so I make it worth her while by giving her some cuddle time. Who am I kidding - I love cuddle time! Plus, I figure if I'm really sweet she might not go back to work after lunch ;)

What a day! I'm pooped!

I'm pooped! What a day. Mommy and Daddy and Grandma and Grandpa Friedman took me to Quiet Waters Park today to see if I would swim. I tried to be brave, but those little waves were realllllly scary! I tried barking at them and biting at them to make them go away, but they were being bad! Daddy carried me into the water to see if I would swim, and I did, but I looked at him the whole time as if to say, take me out of here! After swimming I had to take a Coooollllld shower to clean off. Then we went to the dog park area and Daddy wanted to take me in with the little dogs, but there were only 2 there - and just a small area. The big dog area was much bigger and much more fun. I thought I was going to get to play with the big doggies but then this big black lab ran to get a frisbee and didn't even see me! He barreled right over me! Scared Mommy and Daddy half to death! I cried, but I was ok. But I was too scared to play with the big dogs after that. Mommy is scared that she traumatized me today. But I think I'll be ok. But I might not be so brave the next time we go to the park.

I was so tired that I fell right asleep in the car ride back to Grandma's. Grandma's was confusing. I wasn't sure where my potty was. The purple rug by the door Looked like a potty ;) When we got home Mommy and Daddy were changing their sheets so I cuddled up in their comforter and pillows. Too bad this isn't my bed because it sure was comfy!!! I cuddled up in Mommy's lap a lot tonight because I needed to cuddle. But Mommy loves it as much as I do. Oh Mommy's weighed me tonight - I'm now 26 pounds! I gained 4 pounds this week. And my big-dog teeth are coming in! I think that's why I was such a pain this weekend, and why I'm chewing non-stop - even on Mommy and Daddy.

Well, I was a complete puppy yesterday...

Well, I was a complete puppy yesterday.... read complete pain in the you know what. I really showed Mommy and Daddy that I'm not going to be as easy as they thought. Well actually, I mostly showed Mommy since Daddy was out all day. But I was better today. I wouldn't want them to give me away or anything :) Today I got to meet some friends of theirs - Drew and little Lainey, and Dan and Rasmi. I was supposed to meet Jake and doggy Blivot, but Jake was sick. Here are some pictures of me playing in the grass yesterday (I love sticks!!!), and of me meeting my friends today, and with Mommy and Daddy. Don't worry about me jumping up on the couch in that one picture - Mommy only let me do it for this one picture. I get yelled at 20 times a day for doing it otherwise.

Lost my bed :(

Well mommy had to take my bed away from me this morning - I peed in it and like to chew on it too much and she was worried I'd swallow pieces of it while she was gone. I'll just have to try harder to be a good puppy to get it back. I try, but I'm such a puppy!

My first vet appointment and new bed!

I had my first vet appointment today with my new mommy and daddy. I was a very good boy. Well, ok I peed on the rug in the waiting room, but thats only because my silly daddy didn't take me outside while he was waiting for mommy to finish up with the doctor. I haven't had any other accidents except on my first day home. There was this weird beagle in the waiting room that kept jumping up on my back. I didn't like her very much. The doctor says I am doing great! And I weigh almost 24 pounds now!

After the vet we went to Petsmart so mommy could buy me a bed for my crate now that she knows its OK. I can't wait to sleep on something SOFT tonight! I think I'm getting big enough to need more space in my crate.
